Welcome to the 2026 Fantasy Formula 1 Season!

by Jody Scheckter at 4:19 pm, Mar 8 George Russell won an eventful Australian Grand Prix as Formula One begins a new technical era. The pole sitter immediately lost a position at the first corner to Charles Leclerc, as the Ferrari had a much better start from fourth on the grid, and the two drivers entered into a heated battle, with multiple overtakes for the lead of the race, until a virtual safety car period switched up pit strategies. Ferrari chose to wait until later to pit, ceding time to Mercedes who opted for the earlier VSC pit-stop. As it turned out, the leaders all chose to make a single stop, but the less costly early tire change ended up deciding the race in Mercedes' favor.

Kimi Antonelli took second, and Leclerc edged teammate Lewis Hamilton to third.

sperry wins the first round of the FF1 season by picking the podium, nkroeze takes second, and Ziploo is third on tie-breakers.

Unsurprisingly, given all the unknowns heading into the season, more than half the players chose to sit this race out or save picks.

F1 heads immediately to China, which should garner more player commitment as it will include the first sprint race of the season with the extra points that come with that. But did we learn enough about how the Red Bulls and McLarens will do, given that Max Verstappen started from the back, Isack Hadjar's engine failed him, and Oscar Piastri did not make it to the grid in Melbourne?
