Hungaroring, Budapest, Hungary Race Distance: 70 laps, 306.630 km
Built in 1986, the Hungaroring located near Budapest, Hungary was the home of many great battles during the turbo era of Formula 1. Today the track is known for its dry and dusty surface that has been raced in the wet only one time (in 2006 the wet Hungaroring gave Jensen Button his maiden victory). The slippy surface here makes one extra qualifying lap all that more important as the track get faster during each session's "rubbering-in". Max Verstappen couldn't turn his inaugural Pole Position into a victory, but it wasn't without putting up a valiant effort, and it took a late charge by Lewis Hamilton, capitalizing on a strategic tire change, to deny him. Sebastian Vettel was a distant third as Ferrari had no answers for the pace of the front-runners.
Georgethefierce takes the round, and moves into third overall, Arun is a close second and makes the biggest jump of the round from tenth to fifth, and Reno Stack has another strong day with third, and moves into second overall. LightsOUT falls to sixth and out of the money paying positions for the first time since the first race of the season.
We now head into the summer break with nine races to go. Spa is next at the end of the month.
