by Jody Scheckter at 4:54 pm, May 18 Max Verstappen turned a bold late breaking overtake at the start of the race into a decisive move, and benefited from tire strategies and safety car periods to build a lead that could not be overcome to win the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix for the fourth consecutive time.

Oscar Piastri wasn't so lucky, as a decision to switch to hards forced him to battle for positions, and Lando Norris also pitted one lap before a virtual safety car was deployed. Race circumstances during a full safety car offered Norris a chance to change tires, which allowed him to pass his teammate for second, as Piasti had to settle for third.

Kimi Haikunen is a clear winner this round, boosting his overall position off the bottom, and easily surpassing Suyash who once again takes second, while Zan4774 comes third.

Zan4774 maintains a commanding lead in the overall standings, with Suyash back in in second, a significant margin ahead of TheRealDP, who drops to third.

The next race is the Monaco Grand Prix next weekend, and this year's race will include a mandatory two pit stops, with a mind to providing more opportunities for position changes. We'll see if that makes a difference at a circuit where it is notoriously difficult to overtake.
