by Jody Scheckter at 5:04 pm, Nov 30 Max Verstappen benefited from a perfectly timed (for him) safety car situation early in the Qatar Grand Prix, that caught out both McLarens, putting them on the back-foot, and a pit-stop behind, and helped the Dutchman to his seventh victory of the season. Sprint Race winner Oscar Piastri, who was leading the Grand Prix at the time of the safety car, was never able to recover and had to settle for second, and an eighth race in a row losing points to his Red Bull rival, who has picked up 108 points in that time on the Aussie. Carlos Sainz also benefited from the turn of events to take his second podium of the year.

Meanwhile championship leader, Lando Norris, ended up fourth, and now only leads Verstappen by 12 points, and his teammate by 16, meaning that nothing is settled and it is all to play for as we head to Abu Dhabi next weekend.

David D and Suyash share the day's FF1 win, with RobM taking third in the last high scoring round of the season.

In the overall standings Arun maintains a good, although slightly smaller lead, over now second placed Suyash, with Lewis H moving back up to third. Meanwhile Zan4774's gallant extended run at or near the top has ended, with a sharp drop to ninth.

As we head into the last race weekend, Arun's chances are looking good, but it is still too close to call who will be in the money, given the dearth of top driver picks left, and the looming prospect of one last drop to be factored in to the final totals.
