2024 is going to be a doozy: 24 races and three on Saturday, including the first two (https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/f1-2024-why-bahrain-saudi-gp-on-saturday/10573824/) so be alert from the very start!

Another awesome season! Thanks Sperry and Jody Scheckter for running the league. Thanks to KimiRamennan for getting me in to this last year. Thank you all for your hard earned money!

Whoop! The Professor takes 2nd! It was a tough season - I had a strategy and tried to stick with it, but those Sprint race weekends really made it hard to save drivers for later races. Look forward to next season!

2023 is complete and it's one for the record books for Max Verstappen and Red Bull who take both championships in dominating fashion. While the championship was never in doubt, the race for the best of the rest was intense. Personally, I enjoyed Alonso and Aston Martin's early season success, as well as McLaren's late season resurgence that showed us Piastri and Norris as potential future championship contenders... if Max ever decides to retire early. And Las Vegas was a surprisingly decent new venue, despite a rough start. Overall, the mid-pack racing this season was pretty enjoyable, while providing tons of options for Fantasy Championship strategies to unfold.
Keeping true to his namesake, Max V takes this season's overall win. But it wasn't until Round 19 that Max V first had the lead. Max V was the only participant that broke the 50 point race average by spending most of the season floating between 7th and 4th place overall. By saving some drivers for the final 3rd of the season, Max V was able to pull in a 90 point haul at the USGP (along with 2 others, surprisingly!) that nabbed the overall lead, never to be relinquished. Max V was last season's runner-up. For the effort, Max V snags the top prize of $240. Congratulations!
New to the championship podium is Prost!. Jumping out early, Prost! slid down to the mid-pack for the middle third of the season. But leveraging a win in Singapore and a pair of 4th place rounds, Prost! climbed back into the top 5. A 3rd place result in Vegas was all it took to grab 2nd overall, as the field struggled with a lack of drivers to pick. Prost! also picked the most 2nd place finishers, proving that it pays off to carefully select the best of the drivers not named Max on the days when they're on the podium. For 2nd place, Prost! takes home $144.
Slater Sn is no stranger to the FF1 top spots. Last years winner, and a finishing on the podium each of the last 3 seasons, Slater Sn is back in 3rd place. Hard charging at the end of the season with round wins in Qatar and United States, Slater Sn just picked off Multi 21, RobM, and MahkWebbah to land in the money. Slater Sn earns $96 for third.
As always, I can't thank Jody Scheckter enough for helping administrate the season. In fact, over the last few seasons, I've been less and less involved and he's taken over most of the day-to-day running of the league. None of this would happen without his work!
As the F1 seasons get longer, the off seasons get shorter. Before you know it, we'll be back in Bahrain... in fact P1 is on Leap Day. I can't remember ever seeing F1 cars on track in February!
Thanks to everyone for a fun season, and congrats again to our winners!

Hey folks, I haven’t been able to watch the last race quite yet due to family visiting for the last week. But as soon as I can, I’ll jump back in here and close out the season and send out the prizes!

While we wait for sperry to scrounge up enough pennies to make the payouts, I'd like to congratulate this year's winner, who was second last year. I guess in a year Verstappen was so dominant, the FF1 prize was destined to go to Max V.
And congrats to Slater Sn for coming third after winning last year. Only 3 points separated third from sixth and Multi 21 just needed 1 more point due to picking more winners than anyone else.
And congrats to Prost! for crashing the party of previous podium finishers.
This was an interesting season because more teams had a chance to score points - thankfully! With so many races, it would have been rough if the same six drivers topped each race, as was the case much of the time in previous years.

Max Verstappen ended his season for the ages by winning a record 19th race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with ease. Charles Leclerc placed second, and George Russell took third.
With Carlos Sainz out of the point scoring positions, Leclerc tried his best to turn a late 5-second penalty against Sergio Perez into a positional gain on Russell, in an attempt to give Ferrari the upper hand in the constructor's championship, but it wasn't enough, and Mercedes held onto second place. Leclerc did jump his teammate, however, in the driver's standings, outscoring Sainz by 26 points in the final two races.
Unsurprisingly, the result favored those who still had a Verstappen pick to make, and
David D
continued his good late year form to win his third round of the season,
Vwown3dp
placed second and
Arun
took third.
And so ends another marathon F1 season, with the start of the next season only 97 days away.
The final FF1 standings recap is still to come on what was a very close final sprint at the finish!

Max Verstappen grumbled all weekend about the venue and the emphasis on the off-track show, but he was as happy as any high roller after winning a thrilling Las Vegas Grand Prix for his record 18th victory of the season. In a race that saw more overtakes for the lead than any race in recent memory, Charles Leclerc saved his biggest one for the very end to nip past Sergio Perez for second, forcing the Mexican to settle for what was nevertheless a well-earned third.
With slim pickings for everyone so late in the season,
Arun
wins the round with, by far, the lowest winning total of the season.
David D
continues his late good form to come second, while
Prost!
takes an important third.
Despite his forgettable weekend total,
Max V
holds on to first place overall and is looking like a strong favorite to stay there going into the final race next weekend.
Prost!
now has sole possession of second overall having bested his rivals on the day, including
Rob M
, who moves into third.
The final race of the season is in Abu Dhabi, and there is still an outside chance that the podium positions could be shaken up. It all depends on whether there are enough points left to be won, and if there are some surprises on track.

Max Verstappen recorded his record 17th victory of the season, and fifth in a row, by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix with relative ease, despite an early red flag which gave runner up Lando Norris a chance to take the fight to the Dutchman. Despite Norris' strong race, the best he could do was stay within sight of Verstappen, but not threaten him. Behind, Fernando Alonso put in a stellar drive to hold off Sergio Perez, and to recover his podium position after the Mexican finally overtook him on the penultimate lap, only for the Spaniard to fight back and retake third, holding off the Red Bull by a mere 53 milliseconds.
Multi 21
wins the round, while
Jellybeanz
,
Max V
and
David D
share second on points.
At the top of the overall standings,
Max V
doubles his advantage, and we now have an unprecedented three-way tie on points for second, as
Multi 21
,
Prost!
and
RobM
are only separated by the number of race winners each has picked this season.
However, with two races still to go, it remains to be seen whether
Max V
has enough points and picks left to hold off the competition.
The next race in two weeks will be at the new street circuit in Las Vegas. The late-night race promises spectacular visuals, but also chilly temperatures that will create a new challenge for drivers. Also note that qualifying will be at midnight, 12am Saturday local time, with the race at 10pm Saturday night.

With the prospect of driving in his home race, Sergio Perez was a popular choice amongst Mexican fans and FF1 participants for the Mexico City Grand Prix, but with a rush of blood to the head, it was all to end at the first corner for the #2 Red Bull driver, as Perez tried to pull off a jump from fifth to first with a high risk pass on the outside of Charles Leclerc, who himself was side-by-side with Max Verstappen.
Wheels touched, Perez bounced into the air, and for thousands of Mexican fans there was suddenly nothing to cheer about anymore.
Nevertheless, Max Verstappen still had to do what he has now done more than any other driver in F1 history: win. For the sixteenth time. With ease. Lewis Hamilton again proved himself the closest challenger on the day with a strong second, and Leclerc once again couldn't convert a pole position start into a win, having to settle for third, both bouncing back from the disqualifications in Austin.
An indication of how points and picks are becoming scarce, despite the inevitability of a Verstappen victory, only
Mercedes Benzene
picked the Dutchman, and unsurprisingly wins the round by a large margin,
EL SLATSO
takes second, and
Slater Sn
is third.
Overall, the top seven remain unchanged, with
Max V
,
KimiRamennan
and
RobM
leading the standings despite small point tallies on the day.
We next head immediately to Sao Paulo for the Brazilian Grand Prix this coming weekend, and the final Sprint race weekend once again means picks will be due early on Friday.

Despite already clinching the F1 Driver's Championship, Max Verstappen showed that his motivation has not sagged, even as his opponents appeared to be more competitive, as he won his 15th race of the season, tying the record he set last year, and with four more races to go.
At the end of the United States Grand Prix, it looked like Lewis Hamilton had taken a very good second, until he and Charles Leclerc, the hapless pole-sitter who had only managed sixth on track due to a failed one-stop pit strategy, were both disqualified for breaching floor plank wear regulations, in a disappointing twist announced a few hours after the race.
As a result, Lando Norris, who led for the early part of the race after a great start, was promoted from third to second, and Carlos Sainz took third, having placed fourth on track.
Because Hamilton was picked by most FF1 participants, the added disqualification of Leclerc made the difference this round on who benefitted most from the Sprint weekend format, although both drivers still earned points from Saturday's Sprint race. As a result,
Max V
,
RobM
and
Slater Sn
share first place for the round, having made identical picks.
Max V
's point tally jumps him into first place overall,
KimiRamennan
stays in second, and
RobM
jumps back into the money in third.
We head to Mexico this upcoming weekend, back to the normal race weekend format, and with only four more races to go, the overall standings are sure to change each week as picks become scarce.

Max Verstappen won a tough Qatar Grand Prix, and his second place in the Sprint on Saturday took his season point tally to an unassailable total, as he won his third consecutive F1 Driver's Championship.
Drivers suffered from the Qatari heat and rule changes that altered pit stop strategy to address Pirelli tire concerns.
It was a great weekend for McLaren, with Oscar Piastri winning the Sprint race, and taking second in the Grand Prix, and Lando Norris taking third in both events.
Last year's FF1 winner,
Slater Sn
wins the round,
EL SLATSO
takes second and
lightsOUT
comes third, although they end even on points.
Overall
MahkWebbah
retains the top position, but
KimiRamennan
and
Max V
swap positions in second and third respectively.
The United States Grand Prix in Austin, TX is two weekends away. Once again picks will be due on Friday as this will be the fifth of six Sprint Race weekends. We also say goodbye to Liam Lawson as Daniel Ricciardo returns from a hand injury that saw him miss five races.

Max Verstappen was back to his winning ways, in dominant style, at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka, and earned Red Bull the F1 Constructor Championship. Verstappen's 13th victory of the season gives him the chance to clinch the F1 Driver's Championship at the next race weekend, maybe even in the Sprint Race in Qatar.
Meanwhile, McLaren continued their recent fine run of form by converting 2nd and 3rd on the starting grid into podium positions for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
David D
wins the round by picking the top four,
MahkWebbah
takes second, and
Max V
rounds out the top three on the day.
As a result,
MahkWebbah
consolidates first place overall,
Max V
moves up a position to second, while
KimiRamennan
drops one to third.
As mentioned, we head to Qatar in a couple of weekends from now. It will be another Sprint Race weekend which means another Friday deadline for picks.
October 4 Update:
Liam Lawson will fill in for Daniel Ricciardo one more time at Qatar.

Carlos Sainz completed a near perfect weekend by driving to a masterful victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, controlling the race lead from the start, and holding off a late charge by the Mercedes drivers, while keeping ex-teammate Lando Norris at bay in a very close finish. The win breaks Red Bull's record string of wins, and snaps Max Verstappen's streak at 10.
Norris took second, using his DRS, with Sainz's complicity, to ward off George Russell, and then Lewis Hamilton, as Russell crashed out on the penultimate lap, which allowed Hamilton to take the final podium position.
Prost!
picks up the round win by picking the podium,
EL SLATSO
comes second, and
Multi 21
earns third place.
The top of the FF1 overall standings have been shuffled and we have a new leader in
MahkWebbah
, who jumps to first from fourth, edging
KimiRamennan
who stays in second, while
Max V
rises to third from sixth. The top nine are separated by just 35 points!
F1 will be at Suzuka next weekend, where all eyes will be on whether Singapore was a one-off poor race for Red Bull, and whether Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren will again show their late season pace.

FYI: I found and corrected a bug related to miscounting picks if you happened to have picked someone for the cancelled Imola race.
If you picked someone for the cancelled round, it was accidentally treating the 8th pick as an invalid 9th pick. I seem to be the only person affected by the bug so far, but others would have been as well once more participants started maxing out picks for specific drivers.
As a result of the fix, the standings moved @sperry into 14th overall with 14 more points for an ignored ALO pick in round 10.

Max Verstappen had to work a bit early on to overtake Carlos Sainz for the lead at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, but once by, veritably cruised to a record 10th consecutive F1 victory. The action was all behind him, as Sergio Perez battled with Sainz for second, giving Red Bull a 1-2 finish at Ferrari's home Grand Prix, while earning the Austrian team a record 15th win in a row. Hard fighting pole-sitter Sainz held off his teammate for a deserved podium finish, after a final tussle with Charles Leclerc.
Bond, James Bond
wins the round with a nice point tally at this point in the season to jump up the FF1 standings.
lightsOUT
takes second and
MahkWebbah
picks up third.
The overall FF1 standings top three of
RobM
,
KimiRamennan
and
Arun
is unchanged, but the race is close at the top with eight races to go, so it's anyone's guess how things will end up as driver picks get scarcer.
Next up are the night lights and streets of Singapore in two weeks, as F1 says goodbye to Europe for the season.
by
Jody Scheckter
at 5:11 pm, Aug 27
In a rain disrupted race that shuffled the order soon after the Dutch Grand Prix began, Max Verstappen once again found a way to beat the elements, make the right pit stop calls, and win his record tying ninth straight race.
The early squall, and then late deluge, also benefitted Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly, who filled out the podium.
Arun
earns a round win by picking the podium, edging out
Mercedes Benzene
, while
KimiRamennan
takes third.
The results shake up the overall FF1 standings.
RobM
keeps first, but his lead has shrunk,
Kimi Rammennan
climbs two positions to second, and
Arun
jumps from seventh to third, as
RobN
falls out of the money positions for the first time this season.
We're back at Monza next week, and it appears likely Liam Lawson will once again fill in for Daniel Ricciardo at Alpha Tauri. Look for Max Verstappen to set the all-time wins-in-a-row record at a race he only won for the first time last year.

Max Verstappen won his eighth straight race comfortably, again, and Red Bull picked up a record extending 13th consecutive victory, as seemingly nothing can stop the flying dutchman this season - even a sixth-place start on the grid. Sergio Perez had to settle for second, having no answer for his teammate's charge, and Charles Leclerc once again couldn't turn a pole position start into a win, coming third.
Max V
and
RobM
share the spoils this week, while
EL SLATSO
and
Slater Sn
tie for third.
RobM
extends his lead in the overall standings, as
RobN
drops back but keeps second, and
MahkWebbah
moves up to third.
We have to wait a month to see if Verstappen can win a record tying nine races in a row, but you wouldn't bet against him doing it at his home Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen won his seventh straight race comfortably from start to finish, and Red Bull picked up a record 12th consecutive victory, as driver and car continued to dominate this season. Verstappen got a good start on the dirty line, but so did both McLaren's of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, with the rookie getting the early advantage, while Lewis Hamilton quickly dropped to fourth from pole. Norris benefitted from situational pit stops to jump his teammate and kept his position to finish second, while Sergio Perez turned a poor qualifying position into a third-place podium finish.
KimiRamennan
wins the round, which was made tricky by the difficult to decipher free practice sessions,
lightsOUT
places second, and
Vwown3dp
takes third.
In the overall standings we have a new leader for the first time as
RobM
jumps
RobN
, while

does enough to remain in third.
Next weekend we're back at mighly Spa, this time with the Sprint Race format. That means qualifying for the race will be on Friday again.

Max Verstappen won his sixth straight race at Silverstone, and eighth of the season, but had to deal with an early challenge and a late safety car restart that made things a little bit more difficult.
However, the story of the weekend was the resurgence of McLaren, and Lando Norris' second place. Norris got off to a fantastic start to parlay his front row grid position into a lead he managed to hold onto for several laps before Verstappen was able to get past. His teammate, Oscar Piastri, started third and were it not for the safety car, might have finished third. However, the safety car enabled Lewis Hamilton to take a less costly pitstop than Piastri, and the Mercedes driver took the last podium position instead.
All in all, a great day for McLaren, a good day for Mercedes, with George Russell placing fifth, and a poor day for Ferrari, only able to take ninth and tenth.
Slater Sn
wins the round and continues to move up the standings,
MahkWebbah
is second on tiebreakers, and moves up to fourth overall, and
KimiRamennan
places third and jumps into the top ten.
The top three in the overall FF1 standings remains unchanged, with
RobN
inching out
RobM
, and
Jellybeanz
close behind in third.
F1 moves on to Hungary in two weeks, and Red Bull will be looking for a twelfth straight victory, but McLaren will be buoyed by this result, and Mercedes may prefer the slower circuit. Aston Martin also had a down weekend this week and will be looking to try to get back into the mix after their terrific start to the season.

In a race marred by an unprecedented number of track limit violations, so many that they couldn't all be adjudged and counted until well after the race, Max Verstappen continued to show his complete dominance by winning the Austrian Grand Prix by a margin that was comfortable enough for him to risk a somewhat brash late stop for an extra cherry-on-the-top fastest lap point.
But behind him it was complete mayhem!
More track limit penalties were dished out after the race than during it, with race control having to review as many as 1200 cases according to the FIA. Suspiciously perhaps, the post-race penalties did not change the podium, as Charles Leclerc managed a hopeful second, and Sergio Perez took third after starting in 15th, further demonstrating the strength of the Red Bulls this season.
The FF1 results were equally unprecedented, as nine participants picked the same drivers and tied for first place, largely due to the blind picks that had to be made due to the new Sprint Race Weekend format that moves Sunday race qualifying to Friday, and the promise of Sprint Race points. Another two participants scored the same total but with different drivers.
Nevertheless, the overall standing has the same three in podium positions as previously, although with a slightly different order and a much-tightened pack.
RobN
remains our standings leader,
RobM
moved back into second, and
Jellybeanz
slips to third.

Max Verstappen had himself a perfect weekend in Barcelona by turning his pole position into a start to finish race win, with a fastest lap as icing on the cake. Mercedes had as good a weekend as they could hope for too, with Lewis Hamilton taking second, and George Russell third, showing perhaps that they're making the kind of progress that might mean they could challenge for a win down the road.

Max Verstappen turned a magnificent pole lap into a start to finish win at Monaco, navigating late showers that made track conditions treacherous. Fernando Alonso looked to be on a good tire strategy by running on hard tires, but Verstappen was able to push his medium compound tires until the rain forced drivers onto intermediates, and Aston Martin made the wrong call to first switch Alonso to new slicks, thinking the rain would subside, which it did but not soon enough. Still, Alonso managed to stay second, while Esteban Ocon took a deserved third, as the top qualifiers maintained their positions at the checkered flag.
Multi 21
picks the podium and takes the round on tie-breakers, making a massive 10-place jump in the standings as a result.
Bond, James Bond
places second, and
sperry
also makes a big jump with a third-place finish.
The top two in the standings remain the same with
RobN
in first, and
Max V
in second, although the gap between them has closed.
Jellybeanz
slips into third overall.
Things remains relatively tightly bunched up, which is why we're seeing so much movement in the standings. Round 8 is next weekend in Spain as we say goodbye to street circuits for while.

Due to the awful flooding in northern Italy, F1 has decided to cancel the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola out of respect for the people affected as well as to avoid putting additional burden on local emergency services.
F1 Imola Cancelled
This means the next race on the schedule will be Monaco in two weeks.

In case people haven't seen the news, the F1 race this weekend at Imola has been cancelled due to flooding.
I will be marking the event as cancelled in our schedule, and that *should* exclude any picks from being counted against your season total, but there could be bugs in that feature because it doesn't get a lot of use... so let me know if anyone sees anything wonky!

Max Verstappen once again turned a poor starting grid position into an opportunity to show just how dominant a combination he and his Red Bull car are, by winning from ninth, overcoming his teammate who had the benefit of pole in a supposedly equal car. Sergio Perez never could pull out a big enough lead, and by the time Verstappen pitted for fresh tires, Perez was easy pickings for the world champion. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso drove to his fourth podium finish of the season in five attempts, keeping Aston Martin in second in the constructor's standings.
lisa
wins the round,
Bond, James Bond
takes second and jumps back into the top 10, and
KimiRamennan
picks up a useful third place to move closer to the main pack.
RobN
remains the sole overall standings leader this season, by a considerable margin,
Max V
moves into second, and
Prost!
quietly pips
Jellybeanz
for third on tie-breakers.
F1 returns to Europe and Imola in two weeks, where Ferrari will be hoping the
tifosi
will help spur them on to better results, but Red Bull look to be in a class of their own for now.

I think something has changed in gmail’s spam filtering. You might be able to get around it by flagging the emails as “important” so they stop getting sorted into the spam folder? I think the issue is that the domain name that sends the emails doesn’t match the email address they’re sent from due to the way we have a virtual host.

Although the race itself wasn't memorable, Sergio Perez had himself a weekend to remember by winning the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, after taking the Sprint Race the day before. It is a result that brings him within 6 points of his teammate, Max Verstappen, who came second and gave Red Bull a dominant one-two result, as Charles Leclerc took a first Ferrari podium of the year but finished over 21 seconds back.
David D
has a near perfect set of picks to win the round, while
Arun
and
Slater Sn
announce their presence in this year's FF1 competition with a high point haul and a tie for second. The qualifying rule changes for the round caught some players out (as it almost did us too), and highlights how you have to keep on top of F1 news from race to race.
As a result, and factoring in the first drops of the season, there have been some big shakeups in the standings.
RobN
has a solid round to stay in first overall, but
RobM
and
Max V
make huge jumps into the podium positions.
F1 makes a long-distance trek to the flat concrete parking lots and fake boat harbors of the Miami Grand Prix for next weekend. Somehow that made for a smashing success in 2022, so hopefully there'll be more safety car periods to spice things up this year too. 😉

Can confirm it's the same for me - I got the registration reminder, but nothing afterwards. Apologies for not mentioning it earlier, and I can't really use the email as my Achilles heel because I obviously saw the warning on the site an hour before qualifying...but that was just a fluke.

Not complaining here - but noting that I haven't received any emails at all this season. I was last season. My email address is current, and nothing in spam.

You should have received multiple emails, especially if you've previously been receiving the pre-race 24 Hour notices. You should check your spam box. And verify that your user details email settings at the bottom of the My Picks page are correctly set to receive them.

It certainly makes picking for the race on a Sprint Race weekend much more difficult, as few will have seen the FP1 results to even use those as a guide. So these race weekends go from being the easiest to pick to being the hardest to pick IMO, with the extra points for the taking from the Sprint Race as reward for having guessed right!

I've tried to clarify the event deadline rule in the FAQ.
The point was always to allow pick changes up until the start of the session that set the grid for the race. Now that the grid is being set by the Friday qualifying round, it makes sense to use that as the deadline.
But this is still sorta fluid as the FIA keeps tweaking their rules, so please try to check on the deadlines well in advance of the events, as we're taking this race-by-race right now.

I've modified the deadline to match Friday's qualifying. This will ensure the 24 hour notice goes out on time.
But I'll let sperry make the final call.
I wish they wouldn't keep changing the rules just days before an event. Grrr...

That's a good question. Seems like we might need to pick on Friday since that's what sets the race lineup, not the sprint race. Stay tuned.

The Australian Grand Prix was spiced up by not just one Red Flag, not just two Red Flags, but by three Red Flags!
And it didn't even rain.
Max Verstappen managed an at times somewhat dicey race for his second victory of the season, as the outcome was largely determined by race stoppages due to accidents early and late in the race. Some drivers made the right call to not change tires, benefitting from a free change during the Red Flag periods. Lewis Hamilton was one such driver, and came second, while his teammate was not so fortunate, dropping to 7th after the first stoppage before dropping out due to engine failure. Fernando Alonso, who came third, also benefitted from regulations that meant he did not lose positions despite being shunted off-track by Sainz after the second restart. Ultimately, viewers lost out on what might have been an exciting on-track late race battle that was instead replaced by race restart mayhem that took out some cars, and that resulted in much speculation about the appropriate application of rules, finally resulting in an anti-climax rolling restart finish.
Let's blame Kevin Magnussen for all that.
Anyway,
Mercedes Benzene
comes out on top this round, only losing out by picking the unfortunate Charles Leclerc, who went off on the first lap. However, nine other participant also made the mistake of picking Leclerc.
Jellybeanz
and
RyanS
tie for second, and are rewarded for picking the race podium.
RobN
managed enough points to remain the sole overall leader of FF1 in 2023.
Mercedes Benzene
makes a nice jump into second, and
RyanS
ekes out third over
Jellybeanz
based on tie-breakers. Interestingly, through three rounds, the top 11 has been made up of the same 11 FF1 participants. That's likely to change at the next race.
However, we have a 4-week wait until the next race in Baku. This will be the first of six races with Sprint races. Expect the teams to make a lot of updates between now and then.
(27-Apr-2023) Important Update:
Due to new rules being introduced at the Azerbaijan race, picks must be in sooner than previously for sprint race weekends. Please be aware of the new Friday deadline before the qualifying session that sets the Sunday race grid. Points for the round will still be set based on the combined Sprint Race and Sunday race results.

Sergio Perez took advantage of his pole position, and his teammate's mechanical problems during qualifying to hold off Max Verstappen and win the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, for a second straight Red Bull 1-2 finish to start the 2023 season.
Fernando Alonso survived a grid start penalty, and a post-race penalty that would have dropped him to fourth, after that penalty was reversed for ambiguity over whether "working on a car" means not even being able to touch it. It was Alonso's second third-place finish, confirming Aston Martin's status as a team that looks able to challenge Mercedes and Ferrari this season.
Mrsleclerc16
makes a nice FF1 debut by taking the round,
lisa
places second, and
RobN
is once again on the FF1 podium, and leads the standings.
Australia is up next two weeks from now.

One wouldn't think that Max Verstappen had many new firsts to achieve in his F1 racing career, but he eased to what was a maiden victory at the Bahrain International Circuit to win the opening round of the 2023 season. Sergio Perez came second to make it a 1-2 Red Bull finish, but the star of the race was the ageless Fernando Alonso who made a charge past Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz to take his Aston Martin to a well-deserved podium finish.
MahkWebbah
and
RobN
start the season off with a tie for first, and
Mercedes Benzene
is close behind in third.
F1 next makes the short trek to Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in two weeks' time, although the teams are sure to be busy in the interim. Is the Aston Martin a real contender to trouble the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes all season long? With Alonso at the wheel it seems possible, and the prospects of more drivers able to score good points at each race bodes well for an exciting F1
and
FF1 season!
As a reminder, this season participants will have 5 picks per race, with an 8-pick season limit per driver. As usual we will drop the two lowest scoring rounds. Check out the FAQ/Rules page for scoring details.
