Race Distance: 55 laps, 305.355 km Abu Dhabi's futuristic course at Yaz Marina Circuit is an evening spectacular that starts at dusk and finishes under the lights. The course is another Hermann Tilke designed track, with 21 corners running around the man-made Yas Island. Everything about the track is mind boggling, including a part of the course that runs between the two towers of the track's hotel, and the pit lane exit that runs through a tunnel under the track itself. In 2012, Raikkonen finally took the win for Lotus that his return to F1 had foreshadowed. Alonso took 2nd, but it was Vettel's amazing drive from starting in the pit lane to 3rd to retain his championship lead that was the story of the race. Webber finally takes one from Vettel, grabbing the pole by a tenth, and setting up an all Red Bull front row. Mercedes takes row 2 with Rosberg ahead of Hamilton. Raikkonen sets the 5th fastest time, but is sent to the back of the grid after failing a floor inspection. Alonso fails to make Q3 as Massa out qualifies him again. But as Vettel walked away for the win as he normally does, Webber battled back and took Rosberg on strategy. Rosberg held the podium, while Grosjean and Alonso both put in great drives to finish 4th and 5th. Raikkonen's relegation to the back after qualifying put him amongst the back-markers where he failed to complete lap 1 due to contact.
