![]() ![]() Grosser Preis von Deutchland Nurburgring, Nurgurg, Germany Race Distance: 60 laps, 308.623 km The German Grand Prix swaps back to the fabled Nurburgring for 2013. The original "Ring" was a 17 mile course created out of the village loop surrounding the town of Nurburg. Dubbed the "Green Hell", it's still considered one of the most demanding courses ever created, and is used by many auto companies for vehicle testing. Today's grand prix course is the much sterilized 3.2 mile "south loop" that features only a taste of the technical beast that was abandoned over safety concerns. In the 2011 race at the Nurburgring, a 3-way battle between Hamilton, Alonso, and Webber resulted in Hamilton taking the win over his rivals. Mercedes and Red Bull continue their domination of qualifying in Germany. This time, it's Hamilton on top ahead of Vettel and Webber. The big surprise was Rosberg failing to make Q3 due to simply sitting on his Q2 time while the track picked up pace. Raikkonen and Grosjean round out the top 5 for Lotus. Massa out qualifies Alonso in with the Ferraris starting in 7th and 8th on the harder tires. The top 10 at the Nurburgring: HAM VET WEB RAI GRO RIC MAS ALO BUT HUL Shot out of cannons, the Red Bull duo of Vettel and Webber leaped ahead of Hamilton at the start. From there, it was all Vettel who fends off a hard charging Raikkonen to finally win at his home GP. Lotus's pace was also seen in teammate Grosjean who rounds out the podium. Alonso fights for 4th ahead of polesitter Hamilton in 5th.
