![]() ![]() Grand Prix de Monaco Circuit de Monaco Monte Carlo, Monaco Race Distance: 78 laps, 260.520 km The Monaco Grand Prix has been around since 1929 and has evolved into not just the most spectacular race of the F1 calendar, but perhaps the most amazing race in all of motorsports. The course has remained nearly unchanged since the inception of the event resulting in a narrow, bumpy course where the cars race wheel to wheel mere inches away from the Armco walls. The course is so tight, the teams are forces to use one-off suspension designs to get around the tightest hairpin of the season. The crazy parity of 2012 continued in last year's Monaco GP, with Webber winning, making it 6 different winners in 6 races. Rosberg and Alonso took 2nd and 3rd. Rain just prior to the first qualifying session sent the drivers out on intermediates. Once again, Mercedes shows extreme pace over a single lap, with Rosberg leading Hamilton to lock-out the front-row. Red Bull takes row 2, Vettel ahead of Webber. Raikkonen heads Alonso for row 3. Massa fails to set a lap, due to a crash in morning practice, while Grosjean's Lotus mechanics get him on track to the delight of his French fans with just minutes left in Q1 repairing his morning accident carnage. The top 10 in Monte Carlo: ROS HAM VET WEB RAI ALO PER SUT BUT VER As usual, pole position at Monaco proves to be the key to winning, as Rosberg takes his 2nd career win in the city he grew up in. Rumors of a secret tire-test abound as Mercedes suddenly shows race pace not seen before. Red Bull remains productive scoring points in 2nd and 3rd place as Vettel and Webber complete the podium. Hamilton slips to finish 4th. Sutil and Button put in great drives to move from 8th and 9th to finish 5th and 6th respectively.
