Abu Dhabi's futuristic course at Yaz Marina Circuit is an evening spectacular that starts at dusk and finishes under the lights. The course is another Hermann Tilke designed track, with 21 corners running around the man-made Yas Island. Everything about the track is mind boggling, including a part of the course that runs between the two towers of the track's hotel, and the pit lane exit that runs through a tunnel under the track itself.

2011 saw Vettel tie Mansell for most poles in a season on his way to a 1st lap puncture that ended his race. Hamilton dominates the rest of the way for the win over Alonso in 2nd and Button in 3rd. Qualifying Summary: Only two men have sat on the front row in Abu Dhabi, Vettel and Hamilton. Hamilton returns to the front row with a dominant pole position, and for the 1st time, it's the other Red Bull of Webber that takes 2nd place on the grid.

Vettel sets the 3rd fastest lap, but runs out of fuel after the session and is disqualified from qualifying for failing to submit a fuel sample, forcing the championship leader to start in the pit lane.

Maldonado goes 4th fastest, ahead of Raikkonen and Button. Alonso only manages 7th on the grid.

* will start from pit lane Race Summary: From his pole position, Hamilton grabbed the race by the neck and ran away towards the win. But a mechanical issue on lap 19 parks the McLaren and hands the race over to a surprisingly quick Raikkonen.

Raikkonen wins the race, the 1st win of the season for Lotus and 9th different team to win this season. Alonso puts in a fantastic drive in a less than competitive Ferrari to go from 7th to 2nd, but it's Vettel's champion's effort that brings him from the pit lane to 3rd that is the truly impressive performance of the race.
