| Event Description: |
57 laps, 192.660 mi / 310.080 km
Once again the European GP will be held at the Valencia Street Circuit in the port city of Valencia, Spain.
Built out of the waterfront city streets, the track is similar to Monaco (and to Long Beach for US open wheel fans). The track features 25 corners and is relatively high-speed for a street course.
Last year's inaugural race was dominated by Massa who took the win, pole, and fast lap. Hamilton was second, and Kubica third. |
| Qualifying Summary: |
McLaren appears to keep it up with their new pace and lock out the front row with Hamilton on the pole. Barrichello puts his Brawn in 3rd, with teammate Button in 5th. Vettel shows the RedBull chassis is still a contender in 4th.

| Race Summary: |
Barrichello shows that even at 37, the old dog still knows some tricks, driving a masterful race to pass both McLarens to take the win using his fuel advantage and tire strategy.
Hamilton is unable to hang on to the lead, fighting overheated rear tires and a long pitstop, finishes second. Raikkonen drives well to take third.
On the other end of the spectrum, Vettel blows up a second motor on the weekend resulting in a DNF. Championship leader Button struggles all day just to score two points, while Webber fails to score any points at all. |
